What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
If you or your loved one is suffering from addiction, you need the right rehabilitation program. You can find help at Serenity Springs Recovery Center, located outside of Orlando, Florida. We offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for men suffering from substance abuse and mental health disorders.
What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) involves treatment 5-7 days a week from 9am-5pm. It’s not required to live on our premises to participate in PHP, which makes it perfect for those who need comprehensive treatment but don’t need full-time assistance and those stepping down from residential treatment. In PHP you receive:
1. Structured Support and Daily Programming: PHP participants engage in a structured schedule of evidence-based therapeutic activities, such as individual counseling, group therapy, skill-building and recreational activities. Daily programming provides a routine and sense of purpose, aiding in breaking the cycle of addiction and fostering a foundation for lasting change.
2. Individualized Treatment Plans: Each participant in our partial hospitalization program receives an individualized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals. Experienced professionals conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the underlying factors contributing to addiction and tailor the treatment plan accordingly.
3. Access to Evidence-Based Therapies: Our partial hospitalization program incorporates evidence-based therapies known for their effectiveness in addiction recovery. Therapeutic modalities such as accelerated resolution therapy (ART), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care are utilized to address the complex nature of addiction.
4. Medication Management: For some individuals, medication can play a crucial role in managing the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Our partial hospitalization program offers medication management services with qualified medical professionals to assess the need for medication and provide ongoing monitoring and adjustments.
5. Peer Support and Community Connection: The power of peer support and community connection cannot be understated in the journey to recovery. Our partial hospitalization program provides opportunities for group therapy sessions and peer support activities, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding among participants. Engaging with peers who share similar experiences can be immensely empowering, offering a support system where individuals can openly discuss challenges, share insights, and offer encouragement.
6. Transition and Aftercare Planning: Preparing individuals for a successful transition back into their everyday lives is a vital component of our partial hospitalization program. We offer comprehensive transition and aftercare planning services to prepare patients for discharge or stepping down to our intensive outpatient program (IOP). These include creating relapse prevention strategies, establishing connections with outpatient counseling or support groups and follow-up care.
When Is Partial Hospitalization Program Suitable?
PHPs are typically suitable for individuals who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient treatment but do not require 24/7 supervision provided in inpatient/residential programs. It is great for those who want to attend the PHP program during ‘business hours’ and be at home in the evenings with their families. While some patients enter rehabilitation at the PHP level, each individual should be assessed based on their needs.
